The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is the most lauded Hawaii resort property on TripAdvisor.com’s just-released annual list of the world’s best hotels.

The resort collected more honors than any other Hawaii resort on the Web site’s 2008 Travelers’ Choice award lists. The annual collection of lists ranks hotels based on satisfaction ratings collected from TripAdvisor.com’s online community.

The Four Seasons Maui was the only Hawaii resort to get a spot on the lead list of the Top 100 Luxury Hotels in the World, coming in at No. 64. The resort also ranked No. 6 on the list of Top 10 Best Luxury Hotels in the United States, No. 3 on the Top 10 list of most romantic U.S. hotels, and No. 2 on the list of Top 10 for best service in the U.S.

Two Hawaii resort properties took top category honors. The winding river pools at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa were ranked best in the U.S.  The Big Island’s Hapuna Beach Prince was voted top resort in the U.S. for romance.

Also making the Top 10 Best Pool list—the lengthy, luxurious ocean-side pool at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at No. 3, and the massive water playground at the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa at No. 5.

Some smaller Hawaii properties made the list.  The Aloha Pualani Hotel Boutique in Kihei, Maui, and  the Wai Ola Vacation Paradise on Maui at Lahaina both made the Top 10 list of the most romantic hotels in the U.S.  The Aloha Pualani was also No. 8 on Travelers’ Choice list of the Top 10 Best Hidden Gems in the U.S.

And the Halekulani in Waikiki was ranked No. 3 for best service in the U.S.
