Seattle-based Alaska Airlines today announced a limited time airfare sale on one-way flights between four of Hawaii’s islands and multiple West Coast and Alaska cities the carrier serves, for as low as $149.
You’ll have to act fast, though.
Tickets must be purchased by Mon., Aug. 22 for travel starting on Tues., Aug. 23 from the state of Alaska and beginning on Sept. 12 from the West Coast. Travel must be completed by Oct. 31, 2011 from Alaska and Dec. 13, 2011, from the West Coast.
Not all flights operate every day and blackout dates apply. A complete list of fares and days of travel is available online at www.alaskaair.com or by calling 1-800-ALASKAAIR (800-252-7522).
Among the one-way deals Alaska is offering:
• Bellingham, Wash. – Honolulu (Oahu) — $149
• Anchorage, Alaska – Honolulu — $ 179
• Portland, Ore. – Honolulu — $179
• Oakland, Calif. – Kauai — $189
• San Diego – Maui — $189
• San Jose – Kona (Big Island) — $189
In other airfare sale news, Strategic Airlines is offering discounted one-way fares between Honolulu and either Melbourne or Brisbane as the carrier it relaunches itself as Air Australia, a low-cost airline.
The sale for the new service, which will begin on Dec. 14, offers $499 for direct one-way flights between Brisbane to Honolulu. Flights between Honolulu and Melbourne may be booked for $599. Tickets may be purchased online at www.flystrategic.com until sold out, according to a news release. All fares are subject to availability and the sale price may not be offered on all flights. The new flights will depart Brisbane on Wednesdays and Fridays and Melbourne on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Brisbane-based Strategic has received formal U.S. Department of Transport approval to operate between Australia and the United States, freeing the carrier to start booking of flights. The airline’s other international destinations are Phuket and Bali. Strategic is also pursuing approval to operate services between Australia and China.
Founded in the early 1990s, Strategic’s services have previously focused on air charter and air freight. The Air Australia name is slated to be in place at the end of October.
