Kilauea volcano scientists tracking lava flow edging toward subdivision’s last residence

During 1983, the year Kilauea volcano’s Puu Oo cinder cone began erupting, lava destroyed houses and other buildings in the mostly undeveloped 1,800-acre community.  More
