Seattleites, rejoice. Delta Air Lines is now accepting bookings to Kauai on its newly added daily nonstop route, launching December 21, 2017. It joins Alaska Airlines, already servicing a route from Washington, giving travelers another option to consider.
So, with the announcement that Delta is adding Lihue, Kauai to its list this year of daily routes from its Pacific Northwest hub in Seattle, the island becomes that much more appealing to travelers in 2017. After all, simply getting here is the first step between you and any of the Islands, and the most efficient way to hurdle that is with a commercial flight.
If you’re planning to make a trip to the Hawaiian Islands and Kauai is on your mind, being from these continental U.S. cities helps. They also offer nonstop flights to Lihue Airport (LIH) through the following airlines:
Denver, Colorado: United Airlines
Los Angeles, California: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines
Oakland, California: Alaska Airlines
Phoenix, Arizona: American Airlines
Portland, Oregon: Alaska Airlines
San Diego, California: Alaska Airlines
San Francisco, California: United Airlines
San Jose, California: Alaska Airlines
Seattle, Washington: Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines
Oh, and if you’re a Canadian with Kauai on your travel wish list? You’re in luck, if you’re flying out of Vancouver, Canada that is: WestJest Airlines has a nonstop Kauai flight.
Within the Islands, yes, Hawaiian Airlines and Island Air service multiple nonstop flights to Kauai every day, many from Honolulu, but because none have a nonstop route from a continental U.S. city, we've refrained to list them in the 10 cities above. For Hawaiian, a flight to Lihue from a city outside the Islands typically means a connecting stop in Honolulu or Kahului.
