Hawaii stars on Wheel of Fortune all this month

Wheel_of_Fortune_tonightThe Big Island of Hawaii is a television star again. This time on Wheel of Fortune.

As we posted back in September, Wheel of Fortune kicked off its 26th season by taping 20 shows at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. The first set of those episodes airs tonight and continues throughout November.

Watching America’s No. 1 game show being filmed near Waiulua Bay was spectacular. While I was there, I also had a chance to hang out with its celebrity co-hosts, and HAWAII Magazine readers, Pat Sajak and Vanna White. Now you’ll get to see them on the Hawaii set at the Hilton Waikoloa.

The Big Island-filmed episodes are set to air as follows:

•    “Hawaii’s Big Island”—Nov. 5 to Nov. 7 and Nov. 10 to 11
•    “Best Friends Week”—Nov. 12 to 14 and Nov. 17 to 18
•    “Wheel Goes Waikoloa”—Nov. 19 to 21 and Nov. 24 to 25

All 60 contestants were from the Hawaiian Islands. The fourth week of shows, “Second Honeymoon,” is scheduled to air Feb. 9 to 13, 2009—watch the February episodes and you can win a free trip to Hawaii.

Till then, keep visiting HawaiiMagazine.com. I’ll post more behind-the-scenes stories from my time on the Wheel of Fortune set right here.
