Taps & Apps Brewpub is central Oahu’s only brewpub. Established in 2015, the family-run establishment is located in The Gateway at Mililani Mauka shopping center, just off the Interstate H-2. The result of a dream that owners Randy and Myrline Overton envisioned for over 25 years, this neighborhood business venture is now one that has the entire family on board.
Oldest son Chris Overton got a call from his parents that theyʻd found the perfect spot for their business, and, in 2014, moved back home with his then-fiancé, Monica Graziano-Overton to get married and help build the Taps & Apps Brewpub from the ground up. Now running the pub as Brewmaster/ General Manager, Chris oversees the production of the house brews, craft/bottle beer selections, and general operations. Monica, the Assistant General manager/ Beverage Manager, oversees front of house operations, including promotions, marketing and event planning.
Jon, the second-oldest son, is the Operations Manager, providing critical support for all aspects of the brewpub, in a multitude of roles from Assistant Brewer, Food Server/Bartender to research and product development. Daughter Tiana, an artist who resides in Toronto, Canada, is credited with the creation of the Taps & Apps logo, and murals displayed throughout the Brewpub. Completing the family is Executive Chef and Kitchen Master Mike Fujii, who expertly creates unique, tasty appetizers and upscale pub fare from scratch.
Taps & Apps Brewpub has a cozy and inviting atmosphere able to accommodate everything from large groups to intimate gatherings. Watch the two brothers through a large picture window as they work brewing beer using a special Nano brewing system, or grab a seat at the full bar featuring specialty drinks, beer cocktails and craft bottled beers, as well as a large “social table” that houses a multitude of board games. The brewpub’s kitchen features a specialized menu with appetizers that are simple, unique and delicious. Taps & Apps burgers, a pub favorite, are ground fresh daily. Customers appreciate the fresh, local flavors intertwined with classic fine dining options and many contemporary choices. For an affordable dining experience at a high quality, Taps & Apps is a new and exciting destination for the nearby community, as well as those who normally would travel to Waikiki or Downtown Honolulu for this type of experience.
At Taps & Apps, you’ll find family-friendly dining during the day and a fun, relaxed pub atmosphere in the evenings. During a typical week, evening entertainment at the brewpub can range from a lively game of DJ Trivia or fine whiskey tastings on Whiskey Wednesdays to relaxing to the entertaining vibes of a local band or musical artist. Karaoke, Burger Madness Mondays, Tequila and Taco Tuesdays, Whiskey Wednesdays and Martini nights are just a few of the things going on, always without a cover charge. And although not formally a sports bar, Tap & Apps has six televisions and a large screen for football season and big game days.
Enjoy tropical breezes and mountain sunsets on the large outdoor lanai while exploring the menu of 36 craft beers on draft or house cocktails. Can’t decide on one beer? Try a flight! The brewpub offers a beer paddle with your choice of four of any of the 36 draft beers. Take home a 64-ounce T&A growler which can be refilled with any of your favorite craft beers, or bring your own to refill.
The Taps & Apps management team and knowledgeable staff take pride and have fun in their ability to come together to present exciting year-round events for their patrons, and look forward to making your experience the best it can be.
