1. Maui Hands Art Galleries

Maui Hands was voted the best art gallery on Maui in HAWAIʻI Magazine’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards. Founded as a small shop in Makawao in 1992, the business has since expanded to include galleries in Pāʻia and Wailea. Today, it represents nearly 300 artists, artisans and jewelers, showcasing a diverse collection of artwork, from photography and paintings to ceramics and prized Niʻihau shell jewelry.

2. Lahaina Galleries
Celebrating 50 years in business, Lahaina Galleries was founded by Jim and Nancy Killet in 1976. Located in The Shops of Wailea, the gallery is home to an eclectic collection of works by local and international artists. From realistic paintings of life in Hawaiʻi by Douglas Ball to the surreal, dreamlike works of Paul Bond and elegant sculptures of Leon Bronstein, a visit to the gallery is an immersive experience. Every Wednesday evening, the gallery invites an artist to present their work and meet with the public.
3. Hui Noʻeau Visual Arts Center

Perched on a beautiful estate between the charming towns of Pāʻia and Makawao, the Hui Noʻeau Visual Arts Center is a nonprofit organization that offers an array of art classes and workshops. The center’s main gallery hosts rotating exhibits that showcase artists from Maui and around the world. It’s worth a visit to explore the latest exhibit at Hui Noʻeau and browse the gallery shop.
4. Viewpoints Gallery Maui
Tucked in Makawao Town, Viewpoints Gallery Maui is home to a treasure trove of works by Maui’s fine artists and artisans. The gallery supports and honors the island’s culture and natural environment through its exhibitions and events. Here, visitors can explore a variety of works that pay homage to ancient stories of Hawaiʻi along with contemporary interpretations of life in the Islands.
5. The Curtis Wilson Cost Gallery

From the rolling pastures of ʻUlupalakua to the secluded coves of Mākena, Curtis Wilson Cost has spent more than five decades capturing Maui’s beauty. He is known for his vivid, colorful landscapes that celebrate Hawaiʻi’s natural beauty and one-of-a-kind culture. Located on the slopes of Haleakalā, the Curtis Wilson Cost Studio Gallery is open by appointment only.
