There are a few signs that fall is upon us in Hawaiʻi. Humpback whales start returning to the waters around the Islands, the sun sets a little sooner—and pumpkin patches and fall festivals sprout up across Hawaiʻi.
Here are a few places that will help you get into the fall spirit.
Oʻahu
Aloun Farms 24th Annual Pumpkin Patch
Oct. 17-18 and Oct. 24-25
For more than two decades, Aloun Farms has been welcoming families to pick pumpkins and learn more about local agriculture on Oʻahu. This year, the farm is hosting its annual pumpkin patch at the Aloun Country Market in Kunia. Festivities will be held over two weekends, and you can pick pumpkins, stroll through a sunflower field, shop for fresh produce and enjoy local vendors.
Waimānalo Country Farms Fall Harvest Festival
Sept. 29 to Nov. 11
This family-run farm has become a favorite fall destination on Oʻahu. At Waimānalo Country Farms, you can pick pumpkins, take pictures in a sunflower field, sip on the farm’s fresh-squeezed lemonade and snack on homemade cornbread. The farm also invites visitors to take a hayride and visit its petting zoo.
Maui
Kula Country Farms
Open every day in October
Perched on the slopes of Haleakalā, Kula Country Farms is also a multigenerational family-run business. Every year, it welcomes families to pick pumpkins grown in Kula, which come in an exciting variety of colors, shapes and sizes. The farm stand is also stocked with locally made goods, and you can try its famous Kula strawberry lemonade.
Hawaiʻi Island
6th Annual Holoholoween Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch
