The HAWAIʻI Magazine 2027 Readers’ Choice Awards (“Giveaway”) is sponsored by HAWAIʻI Magazine.
Eligibility
The Giveaway is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of HAWAIʻI Magazine, aio Media Group, Hawaiian Airlines, Waimea Plantation Cottages, and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited by law.
Entry Period
The Giveaway begins on Nov. 6, 2026, and ends on Dec. 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Hawaiʻi Standard Time (“HST”) (“Entry Period”).
How to Enter
During the Entry Period, eligible participants may enter the Giveaway by registering or signing in with an email address at vote.hawaiimagazine.com and submitting at least one valid vote for their favorite locations or businesses in HAWAIʻI Magazine’s 2027 Readers’ Choice Awards. Registration without a valid vote does not constitute a giveaway entry.
Each person may submit no more than one vote per category per day. However, each person is eligible for only one (1) giveaway entry during the Entry Period, regardless of the number of votes submitted. Voting in multiple categories or on multiple days will not increase an entrant’s chances of winning.
Duplicate, automated, fraudulent or incomplete entries may be disqualified. Entries that violate these Official Rules may be disqualified at the Sponsor’s discretion, subject to applicable law.
Prize
One (1) winner will receive the following prize package:
- Two (2) round-trip airline tickets on Hawaiian Airlines.
- A four (4)-night stay at Waimea Plantation Cottages on Kauaʻi.
The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the complete prize package is $2,000–$4,000, depending on departure city, travel dates and seasonal airfare rates.
The prize is nontransferable and may not be redeemed for cash, except as required by law. The prize is subject to availability, applicable airline and hotel terms and conditions, blackout dates and other restrictions disclosed to the winner. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable, subject to applicable law.
Airline Prize Conditions
Air travel is subject to the terms and conditions of the airline, flight availability, applicable booking restrictions and any conditions specified on the travel certificates provided to the winner. The winner and guest are responsible for all expenses not expressly included in the prize, including transportation to and from airports, meals, baggage fees, gratuities, taxes, incidentals and other personal expenses. Additional restrictions may apply.
Hotel Prize Conditions
Accommodations at Waimea Plantation Cottages are subject to availability, applicable blackout dates, booking restrictions and any conditions specified on the accommodations certificate provided to the winner.
Additional nights, transportation, parking, taxes, incidentals and any other expenses not expressly included in the prize are the responsibility of the winner and guest.
Winner Selection and Notification
One (1) winner will be selected through a random drawing from an exported list of eligible registered voters who submitted at least one valid vote during the Entry Period. Each eligible person will be included in the drawing only once, regardless of the number of votes submitted. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible giveaway entries received.
The potential winner will be notified by email within approximately 30 days after the Entry Period ends. The potential winner must respond within five (5) business days of notification, unless otherwise specified in the notification. The Sponsor may require the potential winner to complete and return an eligibility declaration, including certification of compliance with the employee and family-member exclusions, a liability release and, where permitted by law, a publicity release, as well as any required tax documentation.
If the potential winner cannot be contacted, is found to be ineligible, fails to respond by the deadline or declines the prize, an alternate winner may be selected from the remaining eligible entries, subject to applicable law.
The winner is responsible for any applicable federal, state and local taxes associated with accepting the prize.
Publicity Release
Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of the prize constitutes the winner’s consent for the Sponsor and participating prize providers to use the winner’s name, likeness and city and state of residence for promotional and publicity purposes in connection with the Giveaway, without additional compensation. Any use of separately submitted content is subject to applicable rights and permissions.
General Conditions
The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify the Giveaway if fraud, technical failures or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Giveaway, as determined by the Sponsor in its reasonable discretion, subject to applicable law.
By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, aio Media Group, Hawaiian Airlines, Waimea Plantation Cottages and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents from claims or liability arising out of participation in the Giveaway or the acceptance, possession or use of the prize, except where prohibited by law.
The Sponsor’s decisions regarding the administration of the Giveaway are final, subject to applicable law.
Privacy
hawaiimagazine.com/about/privacy-policy Information submitted in connection with the Giveaway will be handled in accordance with HAWAIʻI Magazine’s privacy policy, available at hawaiimagazine.com/about/privacy-policy. Entrants should review the policy to understand how their information is collected, used and disclosed.
