Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is throwing a free Hawaii concert to honor U.S. troops

Hollywood's highest-paid actor proves he's still "The People's Champion" here on his home turf.

Actor and former wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will host a free music and comedy event this Saturday, October 22 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu, Oahu—a tribute concert to America’s military and service members.

Johnson, who spent the transformative years of his youth in Hawaii, is currently filming the sequel to “Jumanji” on Oahu and enlisting the help of his current co-stars Kevin Hart,  Jack Black and Nick Jonas to perform at “Rock the Troops.”

But he isn’t stopping there—he’s also flying in a star-studded roster of friends to perform, including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tenacious D, Aaron Lewis and Flo Rida. The concert will be filmed and co-produced by Johnson’s production company. If you’re not on Oahu and/or able to attend, don’t fret, but be patient: “Rock the Troops” is set to air on a to-be-determined date on Spike TV this December to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

The line up will also include comedians Keegan-Michael Key, Terry Crews, Rob Riggle, JB Smoove and Jeffrey Ross to keep the crowds laughing throughout the evening.

Surf icon Laird Hamilton will also take to the stage, along with actors Scott Eastwood and George Clooney.

The concert kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and is free and open to military and Department of Defense (DoD) cardholders. Outside guests of DoD cardholders must have a special event pass (more information about access and instructions for sponsoring guests for this event here).

Johnson first shared the news on his Instagram with his 68+ million followers and if he’s half this pumped during the Saturday show, it’s safe to say it’s going to be a good one.
